Defcon --> Nerd Paradise in Las Vegas

y fuimos a Circus Circus en honor a Hunter Thompson y su abogado samoano :D (how much for the monkey how much for the ape??)

tarantino-worthy scenario: The PepperMill, un restaurant 24hs geñal
and why the title of the post?
(thanks John!!)

yo tomaba cherry cokes... (parece un título de aira jajaj)

Thanks for the shout-out. When did I get so old, bald and fat? Oh well.

I would have said that defcon was more about hackers and geeks than it was about nerds, but on the other hand:

http://xkcd.com/747/

I used a variation on the same Beatrix Potter phrase in both Acts and Pains. Some text-analytical program of the kind that I made up in Cheap Complex Devices could spot it, I'm sure. An easy $25 awaits some enterprising programmer or reader.

Please ping me if you're willing to do a book swap; I would love to get a copy of your novel. I don't read Spanish but I know French and Latin, and I've always been meaning to learn Spanish, so this would be an incentive, now wouldn't it.

John: Exactly!!

A friend is coming with books in a month or so, so I can send it to you, or we can wait for the French translation to appear --at some point of 2011. It was a pleasure meeting you, take care and write a lot!

Pola,

I certainly would prefer the Spanish! I want to see what all the fuss is about! (Yes, I know I'll miss a lot, but what the hell. I'll read the Spanish first, and then when the French (or English!) version comes out I'll be able to see how much or how little I really understood of it.)

If you feel like it, send me a note at wetmachine & we can arrange the swap (perhaps we can arrange some kind of drop off at an overpass, as in The Big Lebowski).

it's a deal! Cheers,
